Effect on Surface Properties of H13 Mold Steel Cladding Layer by Scanning Strategy

Laser cladding technology is used to clad the surface layer of H13 mold steel with Ni60A metal powder coating solve failure problem. The study JMatPro software extract and fit thermophysical property parameters substrate material, then ANSYS APDL qualitatively analyze distribution melt pool morphology, nodal temperature versus time course curve residual stress magnitude during laser process. Based on results minimum in cladding, reasonable scan paths were derived for preparation coatings die steel. show that maximum peak process 2515°C using short path scanning. can form a good metallurgical bond at this temperature, 406.68 MPa scanning direction 284.45 perpendicular direction, which significantly smaller than stresses other methods. values different strategies are from largest smallest: spiral > block long scan.
